Although Noel Aseko’s transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt brings FC Bayern millions, not all of the transfer fee will remain at Säbener Straße. Thanks to a cleverly negotiated clause, Hannover 96 is also benefiting from the midfielder’s move.
A few days ago, Eintracht Frankfurt officially announced the signing of Noel Aseko. The 20-year-old is moving from FC Bayern to the Hessian club, where he has signed a contract through 2031. According to consistent media reports, the transfer fee amounts to around twelve million euros.
However, Hannover 96 is also benefiting from this transfer.
Thanks to a clause, Hannover will receive
As reported by BILD, the second-division club will receive around 950,000 euros due to a resale clause. The agreement in question is said to have been negotiated by the then-sporting director, Marcus Mann, at the time of the midfielder’s original transfer.
The structure behind the transfer is quite unusual. Hannover initially exercised the agreed-upon purchase option in the amount of one million euros. Subsequently, FC Bayern exercised its buyback clause and brought Aseko back to Munich for 2.5 million euros.
Since Bayern Munich then sold the young player directly to Eintracht Frankfurt, the resale clause took effect in favor of the Lower Saxony club.
Bayern Still Makes a Profit in the Millions
Despite the additional payment to Hannover, the deal remains financially attractive for the record champions. The 2.5 million euro buyback fee was turned into a transfer fee of around twelve million euros through the resale to Frankfurt.
Hannover, too, can celebrate a lucrative deal. In addition to the original purchase option and the buyback payment, BILD reports that the resale clause will bring the Lower Saxony club just under one million euros. In total, the transfer thus yields a profit of around 2.5 million euros for the “96ers.”
For FC Bayern, the Aseko deal also ends successfully despite the additional payment. The Munich club generates substantial transfer revenue while simultaneously freeing up space on the roster, and the 20-year-old gets the chance to establish himself permanently in the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt.
