A prominent name could appear on the transfer market for FC Barcelona this winter. Alejandro Balde is apparently giving increasing thought to leaving the Catalans. A move in January is looking more and more likely. FC Bayern has also been linked with the left back in the past—and could once again be among the interested clubs this winter.
According to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Balde can certainly envision leaving this coming winter. The 22-year-old is said to be taking a critical look at his playing situation at Barça. The Spanish newspaper cites the fullback’s growing dissatisfaction and notes that he apparently no longer sees a clear future under coach Hansi Flick.
The Spaniard is no stranger to FC Bayern. As early as 2024, Balde was touted as a possible successor to Davies at FC Bayern. However, the record champions decided to extend Davies’ contract and ruled out a transfer.
Last summer, too, the record champions were linked to the left-back. Balde was once again considered a potential candidate for the left side of defense, where Munich was seeking a top-tier alternative.
Ultimately, however, the club’s management opted for Nathaniel Brown. The German national team player joined Bayern Munich for approximately 55 million euros.
Will Balde be a topic of discussion this winter?
Another push for Balde cannot be ruled out, but it does not seem absolutely necessary at the moment. With Davies and Brown, FC Bayern has two world-class left-backs on the roster. In addition, Laimer, Stanisic, Ito, and Tom Bischof can step in on the left side of the defense.

Should Balde actually hit the transfer market, the Spaniard is likely to be of interest to several top European clubs despite his difficult situation at Barcelona. The left-footed player possesses great speed, an attacking instinct, and experience at the highest level. His age also makes him a promising long-term solution.
It remains to be seen whether FC Bayern would be among the interested parties. So far, there are no concrete indications of new talks or negotiations with the player.
