Harry Kane’s future remains one of the major topics at FC Bayern. The 33-year-old’s contract expires in the summer of 2027, but the Munich club would like to keep their top scorer for longer. Now, Uli Hoeneß has revealed that contract negotiations have been made a top priority in Munich.
In an interview with the Abendzeitung München, Bayern’s honorary president was asked whether he himself had already spoken with Kane to convince the Englishman to stay with the German record champions.
Hoeneß apparently doesn’t think that’s necessary. “I don’t have to keep telling him that; he knows what I think.”
One small but telling detail revealed by the Bayern chairman is particularly interesting: “Jan-Christian Dreesen is handling it—and he’s in negotiations. We’ll see what comes of it.”
With this, Hoeneß makes it clear that CEO Dreesen—and not sporting director Max Eberl—is playing a central role in the talks with Kane’s camp.

It’s long been no secret that the Munich club would like to keep their star striker beyond 2027. Kane himself recently confirmed that talks about his future are already underway.
The Englishman did not announce a quick decision, however. Rather, Kane explained that a new contract would take time and that various aspects would first need to be examined.
His general attitude toward the talks sounded positive, however: “All I can say right now is that the talks are going well. We’ll see what happens.”
What’s particularly interesting is that Hoeneß apparently sees no reason to personally influence Kane. The 73-year-old makes it clear that the striker has long been aware of his stance.
Since his move to Munich, Kane has become one of the record champion’s most important players. On the field, the Englishman remains a central part of Vincent Kompany’s plans.
At the same time, due to his still-unresolved contract situation, there is repeated speculation about possible alternatives to Kane. Most recently, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Premier League clubs, among others, have been mentioned as potential options should a contract extension not be reached in Munich.
