Talks regarding Harry Kane’s contract extension with FC Bayern are gaining momentum. The striker has a specific request.
Bayern Munich is pushing forward with contract extension talks with Harry Kane. As reported by Sport BILD, the second round of talks between the German record champions and the 33-year-old striker’s camp began last weekend. Kane’s father, Patrick, and his brother, Charlie—who advise him together—were also in attendance at the recent away game in Elversberg.
While no specific figures were reportedly discussed during an initial meeting a few weeks ago, negotiations have since progressed further. There is general agreement that Kane’s current contract, which runs through 2027, should be extended at least until 2029. According to the report, the Englishman could even envision an even longer contract term.
One interesting point in the discussions, however, concerns the contract terms. According to Sport BILD, Kane and his advisors are open to including a buyout clause in a new contract as well.
Kane apparently wants to keep his options open.
His current contract with Bayern is said to have contained similar clauses. Accordingly, a transfer fee of around 80 million euros would have been due for a departure in the summer of 2025, while the fee for the summer of 2026 was 65 million euros. However, the respective option had to be activated by January 31.

var d=e.data||{};
if(d.type===’FOOTY_WIDGET_HEIGHT’&&typeof d.height===’number‘){iframe.style.height=d.height+’px‘;}
});
})();
There is also still room for discussion regarding financial terms. Kane’s current annual salary is estimated at around 25 million euros. If the contract is extended for a shorter period, a reduction in this salary is reportedly not on the table. However, the financial terms still need to be clarified in the event that both sides agree on a contract extending beyond 2029.
Kane himself recently announced that he intends to provide clarity on his future in the near future. After the 5-0 win against Bodo/Glimt, the striker stated that he expects to make a decision within the next two months. According to Sport BILD, both sides are approaching the upcoming talks with optimism.
