FC Bayern doesn’t just want to win every domestic title there is to win in the new season. In their third year under Vincent Kompany, they’re also aiming for the UEFA Champions League title. A Bayern star has now reaffirmed the coach’s call to strive for the maximum.
That player is Konrad Laimer. The Austrian defensive midfielder, who recently extended his contract, also hopes that FCB can make a strong showing.
On the sidelines of the traditional Paulaner photo shoot in lederhosen, Laimer spoke about his goals for the season and the team’s lofty ambitions. “When you’re at FC Bayern, you always want to win every single title. That includes the Champions League and the domestic cups. That’s what we train for every day. Personally, I’ll do everything in my power to achieve that,” said the Austrian.
Laimer raves about the new signings surrounding Brown
To make a real run at the Champions League, FC Bayern must push themselves to the limit and take full advantage of their now more flexible roster. Ismael Saibari, Nathaniel Brown, and Bara Sapoko Ndiaye were signed over the summer.

Brown, in particular, has been impressive so far and has shown his best side in every game. Most recently, he even played in attacking midfield and scored against BVB.
„It’s only been three weeks, but it feels like he’s been here for a long time. He’s a really cool guy and a very good soccer player. He’ll be a great asset to us. The new signings will be a great asset to us and will definitely make us a better team this season,” said Laimer about Brown and the other new players on the roster.
On Friday, FC Bayern kicks off the new Bundesliga season with its opening match against VfB Stuttgart. Kickoff at the Allianz Arena is at 8:30 p.m.
