The date for FC Bayern’s second-round match in the DFB Cup has been set. The Munich team will host 1. FC Magdeburg at the Allianz Arena in late October.
FC Bayern now knows the exact date of its next DFB Cup match. As the German Football Association announced on Thursday, the record-holding German Cup champion will host second-division side 1. FC Magdeburg on Wednesday, October 28, at the Allianz Arena. Kickoff is at 8:45 p.m.
The match will also be broadcast on free-to-air TV. ARD will air the clash between Bayern and Magdeburg live. In addition, Sky will broadcast the Cup match on pay TV.
For Munich, this is already their second matchup against a second-division team in the current cup season. In the first round, Vincent Kompany’s team faced VfL Osnabrück. There, the defending champions secured a commanding 4-1 victory, earning their spot in the round of 32.
This time, Bayern will play at the Allianz Arena.
Unlike in the first round, Bayern can look forward to a home game in the second round. In the draw, the German record champions were paired with 1. FC Magdeburg. The date for the match against the second-division side has now been set.

For FC Bayern, the DFB Cup is once again of great importance this season. After the Munich team had been eliminated early on several occasions in previous years, they finally managed to pull off a major upset last season. In the final in Berlin, Kompany’s team defeated VfB Stuttgart to win the trophy for the first time since 2020.
Now, the mission to defend the title continues with their next home game. If FC Bayern defeats Magdeburg, they will advance to the round of 16. That round will be played in early December.
