FC Bayern could only manage a 2-2 draw on the road against FC Augsburg on Saturday. It was a breathtaking game with four offside goals and plenty of missed chances.
The record champions found themselves down 0-1 after just eight seconds. Robin Fellhauer scored the opening goal following a major blunder by Manuel Neuer, marking the fastest goal in Bundesliga history.
Augsburg put up a very strong, combative performance; they were committed and won many one-on-one battles. Nevertheless, Bayern had significantly more chances and should have won the game.
Kompany Not Satisfied with Bayern’s Draw
After the game, Vincent Kompany summed up the match for DAZN and expressed mixed feelings. “There are no easy away games. We had a lot of chances—I didn’t even think we could have that many. We had four offside goals and took 29 shots. But today we made a few mistakes on both goals we conceded,” explained the Belgian.

Bayern was at times too erratic, especially in the first half, and couldn’t generate enough pace in their own attacks.
Despite the significant advantage in chances in the end, Kompany was still not satisfied. “I’m not satisfied because we didn’t win. But other teams will lose points here, too. If you create a lot of chances, then you’ve done something right,” said the Bayern coach.
He continued: “But with mistakes like these, it’s always possible that you won’t win a game. It was an emotional game; the ball went in so many times, and then we had to keep going. But I also saw a few things that we did right.”
The action continues as early as Tuesday, when FC Bayern will face Viking Stavanger on the road in Norway in the UEFA Champions League.
