FC Bayern will continue to be without Jamal Musiala. After suffering another injury during the international break, the 23-year-old is working toward his comeback. Now, President Herbert Hainer has commented on the attacking player’s condition and given Bayern fans hope for a speedy return.
Musiala had already suffered a serious injury at the Club World Cup and was subsequently forced to take an extended break. After his return, the German national team player worked his way back to his former form step by step. Recently, however, he was once again set back by another thigh injury.
Despite the recent setbacks, officials at Säbener Straße remain confident. Hainer is convinced that Musiala can return to his previous level of performance.
Hainer: “We’re not worried.”
In an interview with BILD, the Bayern president spoke at length about the situation surrounding the star forward. “I think the whole country is hoping that Jamal will return to the level he was at before his serious injury at the Club World Cup. He was well on his way to becoming one of the best players in the world,” Hainer explained.
In addition to the physical consequences of his injury, Musiala’s health situation has also been a topic of discussion recently. The 72-year-old emphasized, however, that the medical assessments give club officials no cause for concern.
“We’re aware of Jamal’s situation. The specialists have assured us that, despite this condition, Jamal can play soccer at the highest level,” Hainer clarified.
The president also pointed to the performances Musiala had shown prior to his most recent injury. “We saw before the international break that Jamal was well on his way to becoming the Jamal we know again. We’re not worried.”
Musiala has resumed running drills

The current status of his rehabilitation is particularly encouraging from Bayern’s perspective. Musiala has since been able to resume running drills and appears to be making good progress.
“He has resumed running drills and will be ready to play again in a few weeks,” Hainer revealed.
However, the Bayern president did not specify a concrete date for his return to team training or his next competitive match. Most recently, reports have circulated that the DFB star could be back in action for the Bundesliga match against SC Freiburg on October 25.
For coach Vincent Kompany, an early comeback would be a significant boost. The record champions face a demanding schedule in the coming weeks, with numerous Bundesliga and Champions League matches on the horizon.
Bayern doesn’t want to take any risks with Musiala
Despite the positive progress, club officials apparently do not want to rush things. Following the health setbacks of recent months, the club is prioritizing a sustainable return to action.
“He’s feeling good physically and mentally. We’re supporting him and giving him as much time as he needs,” Hainer emphasized.
In closing, the president underscored the unity within the club: “We are a family, especially in difficult times.”
The message from Munich is therefore clear: Musiala should be able to work on his return without unnecessary pressure.
When the national team player will actually be back on the field depends on how his recovery progresses. However, Hainer’s statements offer hope that Bayern will have their star forward back in the coming weeks.
