FC Bayern are working intensively on the future of Harry Kane and now, for the first time, CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has given a concrete timetable for the planned contract extension of the English superstar
It has long been an open secret that Munich want to continue with Kane in the long term, and now it is clear that the record champions want to conclude talks as soon as possible
„We agreed relatively early on this year and said that we wanted to have worked through the issue before the new season,“ explained CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen
In concrete terms, this means that there should be clarity by the start of the season in August at the latest. Kane’s current contract runs until 2027
The conditions for an extension are still considered to be very good. „Harry and his family feel very comfortable in Munich,“ emphasized Dreesen
The family environment in particular traditionally plays a major role for Kane. Brother Charlie and father Pat have represented the 32-year-old personally for years and are considered the most important contacts in talks with FC Bayern
„We have a good relationship,“ said Dreesen about the cooperation with the Kane family
Term remains a major sticking point
The main issue at the moment is the duration of the contract. While the Kane side would like to extend it until 2030 according to kicker, Bayern bosses apparently prefer an extension until 2029 for the time being
The reason for this is obvious: Kane would be almost 37 years old if he signed a contract until 2030 and, with an estimated annual salary of around €25 million, the Englishman is already one of the top earners at the record champions
The deal remains financially highly sensitive, especially against the backdrop of the desired reduction in salary costs at Säbener Straße
In sporting terms, however, there is no doubt about the Englishman’s importance. 36 Bundesliga goals in the past season speak for themselves. Added to this is his enormous importance for the dressing room and his role as a role model within the team
Kane feels in top physical shape
The striker also believes he is still in top physical condition. „I feel good physically and mentally,“ explained Kane after the championship celebrations on the balcony of Munich’s town hall
Despite minor injuries, the attacker has only missed two league games this season. In addition to personal records, Kane has his sights set on further titles
