Harry Kane is the subject of regular transfer rumours – but there is currently little to suggest that the top striker could leave FC Bayern in the summer. An insider has now put the situation into perspective.
Since his transfer in the summer of 2023, when Munich paid around €100 million for the Englishman, Kane has quickly established himself as an absolute key player. With 95 goals in 92 Bundesliga games, the attacker is putting up impressive figures – and inevitably attracting the interest of other top clubs.
Kane has been repeatedly linked with clubs such as FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United. Speculation is rife, especially from England. But how real is a departure really?
Insider sees a clear trend
Transfer insider Pete O’Rourke has now put the rumours in order on Football Insider’s Transfer Insider Podcast – and provided a clear assessment. Although Manchester United still have the goalscorer on their radar, a move is not currently a realistic scenario.
The reason: Kane himself apparently has no intention of moving. According to O’Rourke, the 32-year-old „absolutely“ wants to stay at FC Bayern. A departure after the current season is therefore „highly unlikely“.
This assessment fits in with the developments of recent months. Kane recently had the opportunity to activate an exit clause – but deliberately chose not to do so. A clear signal that he intends to stay.
„I think he feels comfortable off the pitch in Munich,“ explained O’Rourke. „As long as Bayern Munich are winning titles and competing for the top honours, I see no real reason for Kane to seek a move.“
Bayern planning for the long term with Kane
FC Bayern are also clearly planning for Kane’s future. His contract currently runs until 2027, but those in charge want to tie the striker to the club for the long term.
Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently confirmed that talks about an extension are planned. „Now the responsible people in the operational area – that’s what has been discussed – will hold talks with him at some point after the season. With the clear aim of extending his contract,“ explained the former CEO in an interview with t-online.
So the direction is clear: both the player and the club are committed to a shared future. Despite persistent rumors, there is currently much to suggest that Harry Kane will continue to wear the FC Bayern shirt beyond the summer.
