FC Bayern are deliberately keeping a low profile on the transfer market – but preparations for the summer are already underway in one position. The search for a right-back is not an urgent must, but it is strategically planned. In the BILD podcast„Bayern Insider“, one name came up again and again: Givairo Read from Feyenoord Rotterdam
In the latest podcast episode, Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl make it clear that Bayern are not taking any action in the right-back position. The name that comes up most often internally is Givairo Read. Falk clearly classifies the situation: „The most likely player to come in the summer is Givairo Read from Feyenoord Rotterdam.“
Read fits exactly into the profile that FC Bayern is currently looking for: young, capable of development, tactically flexible – and without the claim to be an undisputed regular right away. This is precisely why those responsible are not planning a winter solution, but a targeted move in the summer. Altschäffl confirms that they are already in contact with the player, but also emphasised: „It is not yet so concrete that a transfer is imminent.“
This restraint is intentional: Bayern do not see any acute pressure to act in the winter, as they have several options internally to fill the position. An external transfer should only take place if it makes sense in the long term – and not to create short-term unrest
Competition from England – and why Bayern remains calm nonetheless

Bayern also know that Read is no longer an insider tip. Falk and Altschäffl also confirm that several Premier League clubs are monitoring the right-back. „Liverpool are interested, Manchester City need players anyway,“ explained Altschäffl, referring to the English club’s tight personnel situation
Nevertheless, FC Bayern sees itself in a comfortable position. According to BILD, there is a verbal agreement that Munich will be informed if a club makes a serious move. In this context, Falk spoke of a kind of „matching right“ that gives Bayern room to manoeuvre without having to take immediate action
Added to this is the internal planning: players such as Josip Stanisic and Konrad Laimer can be deployed flexibly and even Read has the versatility to play on the left side if necessary. „He is such a versatile player,“ said Falk – even if he admitted that he doesn’t actually like the term.
