While FC Bayern is releasing or loaning out numerous young players this summer, one academy prospect is set to go the other way. Erblin Osmani is on the verge of signing his first professional contract and could gradually be integrated into Vincent Kompany’s team in the future.
According to BILD, the 17-year-old defensive midfielder has been offered a professional contract running through 2029 that is ready to be signed. Sky also recently reported on the contract negotiations.
Osmani, a German U-17 national team player with Kosovar roots, currently holds only a youth contract. Club officials at Säbener Straße want to secure the homegrown talent’s long-term commitment to the club and see him as a key building block for the future.
According to the report, Osmani is expected to play primarily for the U19 team and the Bayern amateurs—coached by Dante—in the Regionalliga next season.
In addition, club officials have outlined a clear path for him to the professional ranks. As soon as the midfielder has fully recovered from his back injury, he is expected to train regularly with the first team under Vincent Kompany.
Although a final decision on the contract is still pending, according to BILD, the trend is clearly toward him signing.
Competition in midfield is easing up

Internally, Bayern believes Osmani has a bright future ahead of him. So far, however, competition for the defensive midfield position has been fierce.
With Leon Goretzka’s departure and Noel Aseko’s possible move to Eintracht Frankfurt, however, additional opportunities could open up in the future. A spot could become available in the medium term behind the established players Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlovic, and Tom Bischof.
He has already made his Bundesliga debut
Osmani made his professional debut back in March during the 4-0 win against Union Berlin. When he came on as a substitute, the Munich native became the third-youngest player to make his competitive debut in the club’s history.
Osmani has been playing for FC Bayern since he was eight years old. He transferred from TSV Milbertshofen to the club’s training campus and progressed through all of its youth teams. Thanks to his strategic playing style and technical ability, the 17-year-old is already being compared to former Bayern pro Angelo Stiller.
If Osmani signs the contract offered to him, he will have taken the next step toward professional soccer—and FC Bayern will have secured one of its greatest young talents for the long term.
