FC Bayern secured a victory against SV Elversberg on Sunday. After the game, the record champions’ management and players were satisfied with the result but felt there was still room for improvement in their performance.
That was also true for Aleksandar Pavlovic. The record champions’ midfielder started alongside Tom Bischof; both put in a solid performance, though it was clear they hadn’t played together in that position very often.
Pavlovic played a key role in Harry Kane’s winning goal, setting him up before his sensational shot into the right corner. “We always rotate well in midfield and make good runs—we benefit from each other. I’m happy that I had the opportunity today to set up Harry and help secure the victory,” Pavlovic explained to DAZN after the game.
Pavlovic still sees room for improvement at Bayern
One thing was also evident at the Kaiserlinde: Bayern didn’t always find it easy to settle into their rhythm and raise their game to the highest level. There were phases where the ball moved well, but they lacked decisiveness.
Pavlovic was particularly critical of the first half. “We need to do better in the first half. We were better in the second half. We conceded a goal, but then it was important that we kept going and played our game. That really worked well, which is why we deserved to win.”
Among other things, the midfielder criticized a lack of composure on the ball and too many inaccuracies. In the end, though, it was enough for the win; Bayern now has seven points from three games and is among the league leaders. We can build on that. On Friday, we’ll face FC Union, and after that comes the extended international break.
