FC Bayern put the finishing touches to their preparations for the Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain at Säbener Straße on Monday, but nothing has changed in terms of personnel ahead of the PSG clash
Lennart Karl will definitely be missing for the clash at the Prinzenpark, as reported by BILD. The 18-year-old is not yet at 100 per cent after tearing a fibre in his right thigh. This means that the talented attacking player will once again miss the big stage in the premier class after the top match against Real
While the team worked together on the training pitch, Karl completed an individual rehab program at the same time. Together with Tom Bischof, who is also missing through injury, the youngster spent around 50 minutes on the pitch under the guidance of the rehab team led by Benjamin Sommer and Simon Martinello
According to BILD, Bayern do not want to take any risks with Karl, also with a view to his World Cup chances, which would be jeopardized by another setback
Karl misses big chance in PSG duel

The timing of the injury is particularly bitter for Karl. In recent weeks, the left-footer had increasingly come into focus and was considered a promising option for the attack. He could have been an exciting alternative, especially in a game like against PSG, where pace and recklessness are required. Instead, the attacking player had to make do with running sessions and passing drills
It is clear that Karl is not an option for the matchday squad, adding to Bayern’s long list of absentees. Serge Gnabry, Tom Bischof and Raphaël Guerreiro are also missing through injury, further exacerbating the personnel situation
Kompany has few alternatives in attack
The consequences are clear to see: Vincent Kompany has hardly any alternatives in attack. There are only a few options behind Harry Kane, with Nicolas Jackson currently the only real alternative in attack
The starting eleven for the clash with PSG is therefore almost self-assembling. Kane will start in the center of the attack, flanked by Michael Olise and Luis Díaz on the flanks. Jamal Musiala is likely to take on the central role behind the striker – and will be particularly challenged
The Bayern squad will take off for Paris in the late afternoon – without Lennart Karl, but with the clear aim of taking the next step towards the Champions League final.
