With Mathys Tel, Bayern have signed a promising young talent on a long-term deal this week. The Frenchman has signed a contract with the record champions until 2029. Jamal Musiala has now moved into Max Eberl’s sights.

Reports have recently been doing the rounds in England that Jamal Musiala wants to leave FC Bayern at the end of the season. According to the reports, the attacking player is looking to return to the English Premier League and has rejected a contract extension offer from Munich.

According to BILD, there is no truth to the reports from the island: „We can say that clubs from England are of course interested in Jamal Musiala. Chelsea FC last tried their hand at him in the summer. But there have been no talks about his contract so far,“ explained Bayern insider Tobi Altschäffl in the podcast Stammplatz.

Eberl wants to finalise Musiala’s extension as soon as possible

Bayern will „do everything in their power to keep Jamal Musiala“, said Altschäffl. Accordingly, concrete negotiations are planned for the summer.

As the Munich newspaper tz reports, Bayern do not want to wait until the summer for Musiala. According to the paper, Max Eberl wants to extend the 21-year-old’s contract as soon as possible. With Mathys Tel, the club has already tied down the first part of the „axis of the future“ on a long-term basis, now Musiala is to follow.

The German international is contractually bound to FC Bayern until 2026. Unlike with players such as Joshua Kimmich, Leroy Sané or Alphonso Davies, FCB is under no pressure to extend his contract next summer. However, one thing is clear: the sooner Musiala’s sporting future is clarified, the better it will be for Munich, especially in view of the upcoming squad changes.

Even though Musiala has repeatedly struggled with performance fluctuations this season, the Bayern bosses are absolutely satisfied with his development.
