FC Bayern is moving forward with its roster planning for the upcoming transfer windows. Club officials apparently still see a need for action, particularly on the left wing. Following recent injury problems, it has become clear that the German record champions lack a genuine alternative to Luis Díaz. Now, the Munich club has apparently set its sights on a promising talent from Portugal.
As reported by Sky, FC Bayern is taking a close look at Oskar Pietuszewski of FC Porto. The 18-year-old Pole is considered one of the most promising offensive talents in Europe and is said to be high on Munich’s wish list. Sporting director Max Eberl, in particular, is said to think highly of the versatile winger. “He’s very high on FC Bayern’s list for next summer,” emphasizes transfer insider Florian Plettenberg.
A potential transfer, however, is likely to be anything but cheap. Pietuszewski is under contract with the top Portuguese club through 2031. According to the report, however, his contract contains a buyout clause that could, in principle, make a transfer possible.
Bayern would have to pay up to 60 million euros.
According to information from Sky, the stipulated transfer fee for Pietuszewski is around 60 million euros.
For a player who is only 18 years old, that would be a significant investment. However, the Polish national team player has already impressively demonstrated his potential.
In 22 competitive matches for FC Porto so far, the attacking player has been directly involved in eight goals, including four he scored himself.
Pietuszewski has also already made a name for himself on the international stage. Despite his young age, he has made six appearances for the Polish national team.

His versatility is particularly appealing to Bayern. The youngster can play in various attacking positions and would open up additional tactical options for the coaching staff. “He’s a 100 percent fit for what Eberl and Freund are looking for,” said Plettenberg.
Whether Munich would actually be willing to trigger the rumored buyout clause remains to be seen, however. No concrete negotiations or official offer have been reported so far.
Bayern is urgently seeking an alternative to Luis Díaz
The past few weeks have made it clear why FC Bayern wants to strengthen its attacking wings. Luis Díaz remains sidelined following his muscle injury. The Colombian suffered a torn muscle bundle and has therefore been unavailable to the Munich team for several games now.
In his absence, the coaching staff has had to improvise. Among others, Alphonso Davies has been deployed on the left wing.
Lennart Karl and Jamal Musiala can also play in that position in principle. However, both tend to excel more on the right wing and in the attacking midfield, respectively.
With Pietuszewski, Bayern could sign a young, promising player who could initially serve as an alternative to Díaz and has the potential to play a bigger role in the long term.
The Polish player, however, isn’t the only attacking talent who has recently been linked to the record champions.
JJ Gabriel of Manchester United has also been mentioned several times as a possible transfer target. According to recent reports, however, there are signs that he may be heading to Real Madrid.
For Munich, Pietuszewski could therefore increasingly take center stage.
The high buyout clause, however, is likely to be the decisive factor in any potential transfer. After all, FC Bayern would have to invest a considerable sum for a potential replacement.
