Things have been boiling behind the scenes at FC Bayern in recent days. Manuel Neuer’s controversial interview has caused a lot of unrest. From a purely sporting point of view, however, the Bavarians have recently regained their composure. At Paris Saint-Germain, on the other hand, the mood is one of crisis. Their own fans are going on the barricades ahead of the CL clash against Bayern.

Two injured superstars, two defeats in a row, and now even their own fans are protesting. Things are going up and down at PSG at the moment. The French have made a mess of their dress rehearsal before the CL round of 16 against Bayern. Paris had to admit defeat on Saturday evening in the Ligue 1 top match with 1:3 at AS Monaco.

To make matters worse, there were unpleasant scenes with their own fans after the game. As reported by several French media, no PSG professional has stepped up to their own fans after the defeat in Monaco. According to Vernhemen, Neymar & Co. feared the „angry atmosphere“.

Only goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma dared to go to the corner after the final whistle, and Presnel Kimpembe also tried to calm down his own supporters. In a video published by the portal „GFNN“ on Twitter, Kimpembe can be seen speaking to PSG fans via megaphone: „We need you. We need you at home on Tuesday.“

„Let’s stay strong and united“

PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe, who is currently out due to a thigh injury, tried to calm the mood after the game on social media. Via Instagram, the 24-year-old spoke out: „Let’s stay strong and united,“ he appealed in the direction of his own fans.

Whether Mbappe will be in the game next Tuesday against Bayern is open. According to rumors, the attacker could at least sit on the bench as a wild card and be available for a short stint.
