FC Bayern heads into the upcoming three-week international break undefeated. Before the players head off to join their national teams, the Bayern stars made their customary visit to Oktoberfest.
It has become a tradition at the record-holding champions for the players, as well as the coaching staff and support staff, to visit the Wiesn together.
And on Sunday afternoon, the time had come: Everyone set out together for their traditional Oktoberfest visit. This year, there was only one possible date, as the national team players are essentially already focused on their respective national teams ahead of the three-week international break.
The Bayern Family Celebrates at Oktoberfest
The starting point could hardly have been better. Aside from a draw at Schalke, Bayern had won every game so far. They claimed the Super Cup title against BVB, and in the league, they had won each of the three other games besides the Schalke match.
They also won their Champions League opener, and Bayern advanced in the first round of the DFB Cup as well. The mood is good, even if, from a soccer perspective, there are still a few areas to improve after a long World Cup and a short preseason.

It probably won’t be a wild celebration lasting into the late hours of the evening, but a cold drink or two is allowed. In addition, there are also players—including Luis Diaz, Manuel Neuer, and Sven Ulreich—who aren’t traveling with the national team. They’ll also have the opportunity to visit the event privately during the break.
Coach Kmpany had already announced his own plan for the Oktoberfest visit: “I’ll sit down quietly at the Wiesn with a Maß.” Theoretically, he’d also have the chance to visit the festival multiple times.
Meanwhile, Oktoberfest isn’t just a reward. An event like this is also meant to boost team spirit within the squad. That’s always ideal.
