This is quite remarkable. Kim had been considered a candidate for a transfer in recent months. Reportedly, the 29-year-old had been given to understand that FC Bayern would be open to discussions if a suitable offer came along. However, a transfer did not materialize.
Instead, Kim has worked his way back into the team under Vincent Kompany. The defender has appeared in four of the first six competitive matches of the new season. His performances have apparently improved his standing significantly.
