FC Bayern appears to be keeping a close eye on Kevin Schade. The German national team player is apparently held in high regard by the record champions. However, a transfer is unlikely to be easy, as his current club, Brentford, is firmly counting on the 24-year-old.
Over the past few years, Kevin Schade has become an integral part of Brentford in the Premier League.
However, Brentford currently has no plans to let its offensive player go. The club views Schade as a key part of its future and wants to keep him long-term. His current contract runs through 2028, and talks about an extension have already begun.
The level of appreciation in London is also evident from the club’s stance last summer. According to TEAMtalk, even an offer that would have surpassed the club’s previous transfer record of 70 million pounds would not necessarily have prompted Brentford to sell. Instead, Schade is said to play a central role in the club’s plans.
For Bayern, a potential move would therefore be complicated. Currently, there are apparently no concrete indications of an impending transfer. Rather, the Munich club is among those closely monitoring Schade’s development.
Arsenal had also shown interest
It was already clear this summer that Schade was on the radar of top European clubs. Arsenal FC also inquired about the German national team player. The Gunners saw him as a potential reinforcement for the left side of their attack.
Arsenal apparently showed great interest, but ultimately decided against pursuing the matter further due to Brentford’s clear stance.
Schade initially moved from Freiburg to Brentford on loan in 2023, before the English club signed him permanently for 25 million euros. Since then, the attacking player has continued to develop and has been called up to the German national team on several occasions.
However, it wasn’t enough to earn him a spot on the World Cup roster. Under new national team coach Jürgen Klopp, Schade says he “will of course go for it again.”
