Harry Kane could end his career at FC Bayern. The Munich club is apparently determined to keep the English superstar for the long term and is working on a contract extension beyond his current deal, which runs through 2027.
As Christian Falk reports, Bayern is confident that Kane will sign a new contract. While some details still need to be worked out between the club and the 33-year-old, those in charge are generally very optimistic.
According to the report, the new contract is set to run for three years. Kane would thus be tied to the German record champions through 2030 and could end his playing career wearing the Munich jersey.
Most recent reports indicated that the record champions’ management wanted to extend the contract by only two years, while Kane would prefer to sign for three. According to Falk, FC Bayern may now be able to grant its superstar this wish.
FC Bayern also appears to have no doubt that Kane continues to see his future in Munich. After an outstanding 2025–26 season, club officials apparently see no reason to doubt the long-term partnership.
After speaking with Bayern President Herbert Hainer, Falk described the situation as relaxed: “I spoke with Herbert Hainer, the club president, about the situation, and everyone said, ‘Relax’; everyone thinks a new contract is just a matter of time.”
Will he end his career in Munich?
If the extension does indeed run through 2030, Kane would already be 37 years old when his new contract expires. This would mean the striker could spend the rest of his career at FC Bayern.
Nevertheless, there are reportedly still some unresolved issues surrounding the contract. Falk is nonetheless confident that an extension could be announced soon.
“There are still a few outstanding issues regarding the contract negotiations that need to be resolved, but everyone is confident that everything will work out. I think that next month—definitely still this year, not next year—we’ll see a contract announcement,” Falk explained.
A move to another club, however, seems highly unlikely at this point. Manchester United, in particular, has been linked with Kane for years. Falk, however, firmly dismissed the speculation: Once his contract is extended, Kane will be off the market “for a long time.”
For Bayern, a long-term contract would thus send a clear signal: Kane is not only expected to play in Munich for the coming years—the Englishman may even end his career with the German record champions.
