FC Bayern is working hard to extend Harry Kane’s contract. Nevertheless, the Munich club is apparently already looking ahead to the long-term future of its center-forward position. According to recent reports, a familiar face is once again on the record champion’s radar.
Harry Kane will rejoin the team on August 8 after his extended vacation. Following that, talks about extending his contract—which runs through 2027—are expected to gain momentum. The situation is clear: Both FC Bayern and the English national team player want to continue their successful partnership.
As recently reported, Kane has already turned down offers from FC Barcelona and Saudi Arabia. The only thing currently up in the air is the term of the new contract. While Bayern reportedly wants to extend the deal through at least 2029, Kane is said to be interested in an even longer-term contract with an eye toward the 2030 World Cup.
Bayern is thinking long-term
Despite the planned extension, according to BILD, club officials are already considering the future composition of the offense.
According to the report, there is still an internal plan to deploy Harry Kane more frequently in a slightly deeper role in the future. The Englishman could contribute his playmaking qualities even more effectively, while another classic center forward would provide a goal-scoring threat in the penalty area.
These considerations apparently stem from head coach Vincent Kompany, who is said to have taken a liking to a potential two-striker formation ever since taking office.
Sesko remains a candidate in Munich.
According to information from BILD soccer editor Christian Falk, Benjamin Sesko could once again come into focus. The Slovenian national team player was already a topic of discussion at FC Bayern back in 2024. At the time, however, a transfer was considered financially unfeasible. Now, interest could flare up again in the future.
Sesko is currently under contract with Manchester United. As things stand, Munich has no concrete plans to make a move for him. Nevertheless, the forward apparently continues to be viewed internally as an exciting prospect for the future.
For FC Bayern, extending Kane’s contract is the top priority for now. At the same time, however, club officials are already looking ahead to the coming years.
