FC Bayern is on the verge of signing Bara Sapoko Ndiaye to a permanent contract. The 18-year-old midfielder, who already played for the Munich club on loan during the second half of the season, is set to remain at Säbener Straße on a permanent basis. Sports Director Max Eberl has now explained why the transfer has not yet been officially announced.
For several weeks now, the permanent signing of Bara Sapoko Ndiaye has been considered a mere formality. The Senegalese player impressed FC Bayern officials during his loan stint and is expected to become a permanent part of the record champions’ roster going forward.
However, official confirmation is still pending.
Eberl explains the reason for the delay
During a media roundtable, sporting director Max Eberl commented on the current status of the deal and made it clear that the transfer is essentially in the home stretch.
“We sold Noel Aseko, freeing up a spot on the roster for Bara. This arrangement with Gambinos Stars isn’t quite that simple. But he’s here and has been given permission to join the Asian tour. But everything still needs to be finalized contractually. Once that’s done, we can make it official,” Eberl explained.
Accordingly, the delay is not due to sporting reasons, but rather to the contractual terms surrounding the transfer from the partner academy Gambinos Stars to FC Bayern.
Despite the pending formalities, Ndiaye is already with the team and is allowed to participate in the Asian tour.
Bayern is planning for the long term with Ndiaye
According to consistent media reports, the record champion is set to pay a transfer fee of well under five million euros for the 18-year-old.
Ndiaye was already part of the Bayern squad in the second half of the season and made a total of four competitive appearances. Now, the central midfielder is set to take the next step in his development and establish himself permanently at the club.
With this permanent signing, FC Bayern once again underscores its strategy of securing young talent for the club early on and carefully guiding them into the professional ranks.
