Following Leon Goretzka’s departure, FC Bayern officials have apparently made a decision. This could benefit a young player.
With the departures of Leon Goretzka and Raphael Guerreiro, FC Bayern has lost two experienced players from central midfield and the left flank, respectively. Nevertheless, the Munich club apparently has no plans at this time to bring in additional reinforcements for central midfield.
As reported by Sky, the record champions are not expected to sign a new player to replace Goretzka at this time. Instead, the club’s management is relying on the existing roster.
This decision could play right into the hands of one player in particular: Tom Bischof. The 21-year-old has long been regarded internally as one of FC Bayern’s most promising midfield prospects and is likely to see significantly more playing time following Goretzka’s departure.
Most recently, *kicker* reported that coach Vincent Kompany envisions the German national team player taking on a significantly larger role in the new season. According to the report, Bischof is expected to take on a substantial portion of the playing time that has become available and establish himself as a permanent fixture in the first-team squad.
Bischof could benefit
Even in his debut season, Bischof gained valuable experience and played in 39 competitive matches for FC Bayern. His versatility makes him particularly valuable. In addition to his preferred role in central midfield, he can also fill in on the left side when needed.
Behind Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlovic, Bischof is already considered the first alternative in the center. In addition, Noel Aseko is expected to leave the record champions for Eintracht Frankfurt, further reducing the competition.

As things stand, Bayern’s management apparently sees no need to make moves in the transfer market. Instead of signing a new player from outside the club, Tom Bischof is expected to take the next step in his development and assume significantly more responsibility on Vincent Kompany’s team following Leon Goretzka’s departure.
