Sacha Boey no longer plays a role in FC Bayern’s plans. While the Munich side are working towards selling the Frenchman in the summer, Galatasaray Istanbul are still interested in signing the right-back permanently. However, a potential deal is proving more complicated than expected
As reported by Sky, Galatasaray Istanbul would like to keep the 25-year-old beyond the current loan period. The Turkish top-flight club is said to be planning to resume talks with FC Bayern in the summer. However, a final agreement is currently not in sight
The reason: according to the report, those responsible in Istanbul do not currently want to activate the purchase option of around €15 million agreed between the two clubs. Instead, Galatasaray are apparently hoping to renegotiate the price or negotiate a further loan with the German record champions
The situation is anything but ideal for Bayern. Boey no longer has any sporting prospects under Vincent Kompany. The Frenchman has never been able to make a lasting impression since his move to Munich and no longer plays a role in their long-term plans
Nevertheless, FCB would prefer to sell the full-back permanently in order to recoup at least part of the investment made at the time. As things stand, however, Boey will return to Säbener Straße at the end of his loan. His contract with the German record champions runs until 2028
Bayern threatens to lose millions

The transfer of Boey is increasingly becoming a financial problem for FC Bayern. It was only in the winter of 2024 that Munich paid Galatasaray almost €30 million for the right-back. There were great expectations surrounding the move at the time, after Boey was considered one of the strongest full-backs in the Turkish Süper Lig in Istanbul
However, the big breakthrough failed to materialize in Munich as injuries, a lack of consistency and strong competition prevented the Frenchman from establishing himself permanently
At least Boey has recently been able to promote himself again at Galatasaray. Since his return in the winter, the Frenchman has played 16 competitive matches for the Turkish side, scoring two goals in the process. His performances are said to have impressed those in charge in Istanbul
It remains to be seen how much Galatasaray will ultimately be prepared to pay for Boey, but one thing is clear: should FC Bayern actually have to sell the defender for significantly less than his transfer fee at the time, the transfer would ultimately prove to be a costly misunderstanding.
