The search for an additional left-back option has been going on for months, with names such as Said El Mala and Yan Diomande being bandied about recently, but now a new, prominent candidate is coming into focus. As transfer insider Sacha Tavolieri reports, Bayern have already made contact with the England international’s advisors
Gordon as a versatile offensive solution
The 25-year-old has developed strongly since his move from Everton to Newcastle in the summer of 2023. The Magpies signed the winger for around €47 million and he has since become a regular and key player. With 17 goals and five assists in 45 competitive matches, Gordon impressively underlines his attacking quality
In addition to his regular position on the left wing, he brings additional flexibility with him. Gordon can also be deployed in the center or on the right wing – a profile that fits perfectly with FC Bayern’s requirements
Difficult starting position for Bayern
However, a transfer is likely to be anything but easy. Newcastle have no interest in giving up their top performer in the summer, and Gordon is still under contract until 2030, which significantly strengthens the English side’s negotiating position
Nevertheless, the player seems to want to keep all his options open. According to reports, he is also closely following the development of Bayern star Michael Olise – a factor that makes the record champions even more interesting
With an estimated market value of around 60 million euros, Gordon would also be no bargain. In light of Bayern’s recently communicated cost-cutting strategy, it remains to be seen whether Munich are prepared to invest such a sum.
