Michael Olise has finally played his way into the spotlight of the soccer world in 2025. The FC Bayern winger delivers assists like on an assembly line and even puts a living legend in the shade.
In the calendar year 2025, no player in the world was the decisive passer as often as Olise. With a total of 30 assists in competitive matches for club and national team, the 24-year-old trumps greats such as Lionel Messi (29) and Barca youngster Lamine Yamal (27).
Olise reached this mark in 66 appearances, which is significantly more than Messi (54) and Yamal (60), but nevertheless underlines the Frenchman’s consistency. The Bayern attacker not only shines with his technique, but also demonstrates a strategic understanding of the game and perfect coordination with his teammates.

Olise has already given his fans something to cheer about this season: with eleven assists, the Frenchman is the best preparer in Europe’s top five leagues, ahead of experienced players such as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Barcelona’s super-talented Yamal.
Olise impresses on several levels
Since his arrival in the summer of 2024, the attacking player has become an indispensable part of Vincent Kompany’s team. His flexibility and intelligence make him difficult to predict – both on the wing and in the center. What’s more: „He’s a great character in the dressing room,“ according to people close to the club.
Despite his rapid development, there have been no rumours of a transfer so far. Although top international clubs are said to be interested, Olise has a contract in Munich until 2029 and there is no exit clause. Bayern therefore appear to be relaxed about the future of their assist king.
His market value is now estimated at 130 million euros, further proof of his rapid development since moving to the Isar from Crystal Palace. Even if the 24-year-old often appears reserved in public, he impresses internally with his leadership quality and team-oriented mentality.
