Liverpool FC have been linked with Michael Olise for months. The latest reports from England even suggested that the Reds were prepared to pay astronomical sums for the Bayern attacking star – up to 200 million euros had been mooted. But now a clear picture is emerging: Liverpool know that a transfer of the 23-year-old is practically impossible.
Despite the great interest in the Premier League and numerous speculations, the assessment at the English top club is clear. Sky confirms that the Reds are following Olise closely, but a real offer is not being considered at Anfield Road. Transfer expert Florian Plettenberg emphasises: „There is definitely interest, but Liverpool are not planning an offer. The Reds know that Olise does not have an exit clause and that leaving is not an option for Bayern. He is an issue, but not a top candidate.“
This makes it clear that the rumoured 200 million speculation was spectacular, but ultimately without substance. Olise has a contract until 2029, is set to play under Vincent Kompany and is considered a key player for the record champions‘ long-term future. A transfer is not even on the table for FC Bayern.
The situation is clear for FC Bayern: selling Olise – even in the face of extremely high offers – is out of the question.
Liverpool looking for alternatives – focus on Antoine Semenyo
While an Olise transfer has no prospect, Liverpool are already looking at feasible solutions. According to Sky, Antoine Semenyo is the top target for the winter period. The 25-year-old from AFC Bournemouth has a €70 million release clause and could move as early as January.
Initial talks between the player and Liverpool are said to have already taken place. Semenyo is regarded as a versatile attacking player who can be deployed both on the wings and in the center. His dynamism and versatility make him particularly interesting for the Reds.
Bayern have also recently been rumoured to be interested in Semenyo, but according to Plettenberg, Munich are „not in the running“. The record champions are not looking to sign an attacking player this winter anyway.
