Michael Olise’s future continues to spark debate. While Real Madrid keeps a close eye on the Bayern star, there is clear criticism directed at the record champions’ management.
Michael Olise is one of the most sought-after attacking players in Europe. Although the Frenchman is under contract with FC Bayern through 2029 and a transfer this summer is considered extremely unlikely, speculation about Real Madrid’s interest shows no signs of abating.
However, according to Christian Falk, the Munich club should have acted much sooner in this matter. According to information from BILD, Bayern does want to extend the 24-year-old’s contract early, but in the transfer expert’s view, this plan should have been implemented before the World Cup.
Did they miss the right moment with Olise?
On the Bayern Insider podcast, Falk said of a possible departure by Olise: “That would be a loss of face for Bayern. But you also have to say, he’s under contract until 2029. I say: They’re already too late again with the extension. They should have done it before the World Cup. It’s also unclear what the hold-up was that prevented them from pushing it through. The idea was definitely there.”
(function(){
var iframe=document.getElementById(‚polls-fcbinside‘);
if(!iframe)return;
window.addEventListener(‚message‘,function(e){
if(e.source!==iframe.contentWindow)return;
var d=e.data||{};
if(d.type===’FOOTY_WIDGET_HEIGHT’&&typeof d.height===’number‘){iframe.style.height=d.height+’px‘;}
});
})();
Nevertheless, he believes the record champions are in a strong position for the current transfer window. “Bayern isn’t under any pressure to sell him this summer. Real Madrid seems to have accepted that as well.”
In the long term, however, the situation could change. If Olise doesn’t extend his contract and has only two years remaining on his deal by next summer, the pressure on the club’s management would increase significantly.
Falk also explicitly pointed this out: “But next summer, if he only has two years left on his contract and hasn’t signed a new one yet, these days you almost have to sell him.”
FC Bayern is therefore likely to have a strong interest in successfully concluding talks with Olise as soon as possible. A contract extension would not only provide planning certainty but also significantly curb speculation about a possible move to Real Madrid.
