Due to a muscle bundle injury, Kingsley Coman will most likely not play any more games for FC Bayern this season. However, the winger hopes that he will be fit again in time for the European Championships.

Coman suffered a muscle bundle injury in his right adductor muscle last weekend in the 2-0 win against 1. FC Köln. According to the club, the French winger will have to take several weeks off, meaning he is unlikely to play again this season. Coman also looked likely to miss the European Championships recently.

BILD now reports that the 27-year-old is nevertheless confident that he will be fit again in time for EURO 2024. According to BILD, Coman is facing an enforced break of 5-6 weeks, meaning that the FCB professional could be fit again at the end of May.

Season full of setbacks for Coman

France kick off their European Championship campaign against Austria in Düsseldorf on 17 June. Coman could therefore be fit again in time for the first group game if his rehabilitation goes according to plan. The decision ultimately lies with Didier Deschamps, the French national team coach, who will have to weigh up whether to nominate a player who has only just returned from injury.

In the meantime, Bayern will have to make do without Coman, who was already struggling with absences before his latest injury. Coman has only played three games since the end of January, which could further jeopardise his chances of a permanent place in the European Championship squad.

The Frenchman also struggled with injuries in the first half of the season. In total, he has only played seven games this season and scored a disappointing two goals. Nevertheless, the winger is someone who can help the French national team with his qualities, even if he is often used more as a joker than a starter.
