FC Bayern is currently a long way from setting the tone in the Bundesliga. Club patron Uli Hoeneß is relaxed about this, but at the same time sends a challenge to the competition.

„One thing is certain: FC Bayern will be the measure of all things again in two or three years‘ time,“ emphasised Uli Hoeneß at a recent event at the FCB Museum. Even if Bayern are threatened with their first title-less season in more than a decade, the honorary president of Munich is not panicking: „That can be relatively good for German football. And if we’re not being challenged on all fronts, it’s also good,“ said Hoeneß.

Hoeneß enjoys watching Stuttgart and Leverkusen

„I find myself enjoying watching Stuttgart or Leverkusen,“ admitted Hoeneß. After all, „as a Bayern man, you also have to accept that sometimes the others get the edge,“ he added.

The FCB official also commented on the German national team and Julian Nagelsmann’s decisions: „All of the national team’s successes over the last 30 years have been largely characterised by FC Bayern. If there is now a certain amount of upheaval at FC Bayern, then this will naturally also affect the national team,“ explained Hoeneß.
