Leon Goretzka is one of the candidates whose future in Munich is currently uncertain. There is already rumoured to be interest from abroad. Now it is also known what the midfielder himself thinks of this interest.

Leon Goretzka’s contract at FC Bayern runs until 30 June 2026, meaning that the club would have another chance to cash in on the Bochum-born player’s departure next summer or the summer after. But what does Goretzka himself think about a move? According to the Münchner Abendzeitung, at least the topic of Goretzka and Juventus is not hot. The player’s focus is on the record champions and the rest of the season.

Goretzka’s future: What will happen at the European Championship?

The Italian first division club was considered to be interested in the player, who was not uncontroversial under Thomas Tuchel and, depending on the head coach for the coming season, is considered a strike candidate. Goretzka could be facing a decisive phase anyway, as he may also be making his future dependent on his performance at the European Championships. However, FC Bayern may also be reacting to Goretzka’s performance with the national team. The number of interested parties could of course also be increased by good performances at the European Championships.

Goretzka faces tough competition, as Joshua Kimmich could move to the right-back position, while Toni Kroos is expected to play in central midfield alongside a defensive six. Ilkay Gündogan is pencilled in as a ten. Notable competition for Goretzka, against whom he will have to prove himself in order to maintain his standing with the German record champions. His performances up to the end of the current season will also be closely analysed. On Tuesday evening, for example, the time would be ripe for Goretzka to make an exclamation mark against Lazio.
