Robert Lewandowski does not want to extend his contract with Bayern Munich and is apparently pushing for a transfer. Now Julian Nagelsmann has reacted to the current rumors surrounding the Polish forward.

Nagelsmann has repeatedly hinted in recent weeks that he hopes that Lewandowski will stay. As various German media announced yesterday, the Polish international has already informed the Bayern bosses that he will not renew his contract. The 33-year-old is reportedly pushing for a move to FC Barcelona at the end of the season.

When asked about the current reports, the Bayern coach commented on Friday as follows: „The attitude of the club and my attitude are known. The contract situation is also known. He has a contract until June 30, 2023. You have to ask Robert for the rest. I don’t talk about my conversations with the players,“ Nagelsmann told the media ahead of tomorrow’s Bundesliga game against VfL Wolfsburg.

The 34-year-old also referred to sports director Hasan Salihamidzic, who is responsible for extending the contract: „Lewy has trained very well over the last two days, scored his goals, he will be in the starting XI in Wolfsburg. For everything else, the player and Hasan are the better people to talk to.”

Nagelsmann himself continues to plan with Lewandowski: “He’s quite normally in my plans because he has a contract with us.”
