Marcel Sabitzer has repeatedly been linked with a farewell from Bayern Munich in recent weeks. His agent Roger Wittmann has now ruled out a departure in the summer.

Wittmann was a guest in Munich on Tuesday and discussed Sabitzer’s future with the Bayern bosses. The 28-year-old also attended the meeting. Recently, rumors have been circulating that Bayern would be willing to sell Sabitzer if they received an attractive offer of 15 million euros. According to Wittmann, however, there will be no farewell to the record champions in the summer.

Wittmann said the following statement for „Sky Germany“ about the meeting and the future of the Austrian at Bayern Munich: „Today we clarified why the season was not satisfying for the player. We then confirmed that Marcel [Sabitzer] wants to start a new attack next season in order to perform as he did at RB Leipzig.“

According to the player’s agent, there are several reasons why Sabitzer has not yet been able to meet the high expectations in Munich: „He is dissatisfied with the whole situation. In Leipzig, he left as a leader, in Munich he came here without preparation, and then there was Covid and the injuries. That all hit him in the end.” At the same time, Wittmann hinted that it was Sabitzer’s turn to show what he is capable of as he did in Leipzig.

The Austrian international moved from RB Leipzig to Bayern Munich for almost 15 million euros in the summer of 2021 and has completed 32 games (one goal, one assist) for the Bavarians this season.
