With his performances, Christopher Nkunku has attracted the interest of Bayern Munich. The Bavarians see the Frenchman as a potential replacement for Serge Gnabry should he leave. However, the 24-year-old will not be a bargain.

„SPORT1“ and „BILD“ both reported that the winger is being discussed internally. The Leipzig professional could succeed Serge Gnabry in Munich as the contract talks between the German and the Bavarians have stalled for months. Both sides still want the extension to work beyond the summer of 2023. The problem: the club and the player are too far apart when it comes to salary.

According to reports, Bayern are already looking for a potential Gnabry replacement. In addition to Brazilian Antony from Ajax Amsterdam, Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig seems to be high on the wishlist of Bayern.

Leipzig doesn’t want to lose any more top performers to Bayern

As SKY GERMANY reports, there has not yet been any contact between the two clubs. The primary reason is that Gnabry’s extension continues to be a priority in Munich. However, it is interesting that, according to the journalist, Bayern would have to pay more for Nkunku than any other club would if they were to be interested. In other words, Nkunku would be more expensive for Bayern than for other clubs.

This comes as a result of the latest newcomers that joined Bayern from Leipzig, particularly Marcel Sabitzer and Dayot Upamecano. Leipzig would try to avoid losing the third top performer to the record champions within a year. Julian Nagelsmann also joined Bayern from Leipzig.

In addition to Bayern, several England clubs and Paris Saint-Germain are said to be interested in the French international. However, it is questionable whether Leipzig will let their top star go at all in the summer. RB boss Oliver Mintzlaff recently made it clear on „Sky90“ that the club does not want to let go another offensive player.
