Bayern Munich have lost the competition for Andreas Christensen against FC Barcelona and the move of Gleison Bremer to Inter Milan is becoming more likely. Matthias Ginter currently seems to be the hottest candidate to succeed Niklas Süle.
The search for a new center-back has been anything but ideal for the Bavarian giants. The list of candidates is becoming thinner, Bayern seem to be running out of options and are stuck to the least desired candidate due to lack of good options. Matthias Ginter is definitely the least desired option, because the board are divided on the transfer.
According to the local newspaper ‚Rheinische Post‘, something is currently brewing between Bayern and Ginter. As the newspaper has learned, Ginter is currently in talks with ‚at least‘ one club, and the German is said to have rejected offers from Inter Milan, who are increasingly intensifying their attempts to sign Bremer. Ginter wants to go to Bayern.
Ginter’s wife also hinted on her Instagram story that her husband and the agent were present on a plane by taking a photo of the jet. It is very likely that the couple and the agent were flying for Ginter’s new destination, although there is nothing final happening as the transfer activities are dragging a little bit at the moment.
Even if Ginter is not the „A solution“ of the Bayern bosses, there are still good reasons for a transfer. The German international is available on a free transfer, is an experienced player with international experience, and already knows numerous Bayern players from the national team, which would certainly have a positive effect on the integration period.
If no surprise candidate appears in the coming weeks, talks with Ginter will certainly be intensified in Munich. But due to the ongoing and tense COVID-19 situation, it could still take some time before a final decision is made by Ginter and Bayern.
