Michael Olise has long since caught the attention of top international clubs with his performances at FC Bayern. Last summer, the French national team player was linked to Real Madrid, among others. Now, of all people, Real star Kylian Mbappé has spoken out about the speculation surrounding his compatriot.
In an interview with Sport BILD, Mbappé was asked about the rumors from that time. The 27-year-old made it clear that he thinks highly of Olise. At the same time, he didn’t want to encourage his French national teammate to move to Madrid.
“I’ve heard the speculation. But I know this very well myself: When I was still a PSG player, there were countless rumors. And I think it would be disrespectful to advise a player to leave. That would be unfair to Bayern. Especially since Bayern is a great club where Michael can achieve a lot. Of course, every club in the world would love to have Michael Olise. He’s an outstanding player,” Mbappé explained.
Mbappé shows great respect for Bayern
What’s remarkable here isn’t just the praise for Olise. Mbappé also makes it clear that he holds his compatriot’s athletic potential at the German record champions in very high regard.
Instead of further fueling speculation about a possible move to Real Madrid, the forward points out that Olise also has the best conditions in Munich to celebrate great successes.
The topic of Real Madrid had been on the Bayern star’s mind all summer. Following his strong development in Munich, Olise is now one of the most sought-after attacking players in Europe. However, FC Bayern had no intention of letting him go.
“Every club in the world” would love to have Olise
Olise’s contract in Munich runs through 2029. The Frenchman does not currently have a buyout clause. Most recently, Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen also made it clear that, contrary to numerous speculations last summer, there had been no concrete offers for the attacking player.
