Michael Olise has long been one of FC Bayern’s most important players. The Frenchman is under contract in Munich through 2029, and the record champions hope to keep him with the club for as long as possible. However, CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen was unwilling to promise that the 24-year-old would continue to wear the Bayern jersey beyond next summer.
On SPORT1’s “Doppelpass,” Dreesen was specifically asked whether Olise would still be playing for Munich next season. The Bayern boss was reluctant to offer any guarantees.
“Making promises in this business is a tricky business,” Dreesen explained.
Given the ongoing speculation about Olise’s future, this statement is likely to attract quite a bit of attention. Recently, there have been repeated reports of interest from top European clubs in the French international. Real Madrid, in particular, has been mentioned in this context.
Dreesen Denies Transfer Rumors
However, Dreesen made at least one thing unmistakably clear: There were no concrete offers for Olise during the last transfer window.
The CEO dismissed claims that FC Bayern “had dozens of offers on the table this summer” as “nonsense.”
Dreesen then doubled down: “That’s why I decided to say it publicly. It simply wasn’t true! We didn’t have a single offer on the table. However, we’ve always said that we’re not interested in that. That’s exactly our stance.”
With this, the Bayern boss underscores that selling the star forward has not been an option for the club’s leadership at all so far. Olise is already under a long-term contract that runs through 2029.
Nevertheless, the Munich club is already considering a possible contract extension. Recent reports suggest that Bayern wants to extend his contract early and offer Olise a significant pay raise.
Kane extension on track
However, there is another important personnel matter on the agenda even before Olise: Harry Kane. The English striker’s contract runs through 2027. Talks about an extension have already begun.
Dreesen expressed optimism about the situation. “It’s clear that both sides want this,” the Bayern boss explained. There don’t appear to be any problems or time pressure at the moment: “We have a relaxed relationship.”
Kane himself had recently confirmed that negotiations are underway. At the same time, the 33-year-old made it clear that numerous details still need to be worked out.
The situation with Olise is significantly less tense due to the longer term of his contract. Nevertheless, his future is likely to remain one of Bayern’s major topics in the coming months. Since his move to Munich, the Frenchman has developed into one of the most valuable players on the roster, inevitably making him a target for other clubs.
Dreesen’s statements make two things clear: Bayern is currently not considering selling its star forward at all. However, given the volatility of the transfer market, the CEO did not want to guarantee that he would remain with the club long-term.
