Lennart Karl is said to have caught the attention of FC Barcelona. However, FC Bayern apparently has no intention of selling the top talent.
Lennart Karl was one of the biggest standouts for FC Bayern last season. The attacking player made his breakthrough at the professional level, impressed with strong performances, and was even nominated for the 2026 World Cup. It comes as little surprise, then, that other top European clubs have also taken notice of the 18-year-old.
Most recently, the Spanish sports newspaper Mundo Deportivo reported that Karl is being touted at FC Barcelona as a potential transfer target for the future. The Catalans are said to be closely monitoring the development of the Bayern talent and appreciate his potential.
However, anyone fearing a possible move to Spain is likely to be disappointed. According to information from BILD soccer editor Christian Falk, the stance of Bayern’s management is clear. The journalist made it clear on his website that a sale is not even on the table at this time.
“It may well be that there is interest in and admiration for the German’s qualities and potential. But FC Bayern Munich will not sell Karl,” Falk explained.
This stance comes as no surprise to the Munich club. Karl is regarded internally as one of the most exciting talents in German soccer and is expected to play an important role for the record champions in the long term.
Bayern is firmly counting on Karl

The past few months have shown why expectations for the attacking player are so high. In a total of 39 competitive matches, Karl scored nine goals and set up eight more. With these performances, he not only caught the attention of the national team but also landed on the wish lists of other top clubs.
Shortly before the start of the World Cup, however, the youngster suffered a setback. A torn muscle forced him to withdraw from the tournament and dashed his dream of making his World Cup debut.
In Munich, however, Karl has the full support of the club. Sporting Director Max Eberl recently made it clear: “Lenny will receive every bit of support he needs at FC Bayern to get back on the field soon—and we all know he still has many major tournaments ahead of him. He himself is already looking ahead and says he’ll come back stronger. I like that about him, and that’s the spirit you need in moments like these.”
According to information from BILD, Karl is expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks due to the injury. FC Bayern is nevertheless firmly counting on his talent and is currently focusing on preparing the 18-year-old as best as possible for his return. There may be interest from Barcelona—but at Säbener Straße, there is currently no doubt as to where Karl’s future lies.
