FC Bayern’s plans for the future are in full swing. The latest supervisory board meeting apparently discussed the club’s strategic direction and squad planning, among other things – but no personnel decisions are said to have been made yet
The eagerly awaited supervisory board meeting of FC Bayern on Monday apparently ended without any concrete decisions on the future of the management team. As reported by SPORT1, the contractual issues surrounding CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, sporting director Max Eberl and sporting director Christoph Freund were not discussed at the meeting
Although the trio’s contracts expire in the summer of 2027, according to the report, the club’s statutes stipulate that such extensions may only be officially decided one year before the end of the contract. This means that Dreesen, Eberl and Freund will have to wait for clarity about their long-term future at the record champions for the time being
According to SPORT1, the powerful supervisory board led by Herbert Hainer and honorary president Uli Hoeneß deliberately wants to take its time to make further decisions, giving both itself and those responsible sufficient time before the final course is set
The next meeting of the supervisory board is therefore planned for the summer, when talks about the future of the club’s management could become more concrete
Focus on squad planning and transfers
According to the report, the current meeting focused instead on the club’s sporting future, with the Supervisory Board discussing the fundamental direction of FC Bayern and the potential squad for the coming season
Transfer issues are also said to have been discussed, although no concrete decisions or final resolutions have yet been made
Sporting director Max Eberl in particular is currently working intensively on a number of personnel for the summer, with Munich continuing to be linked with players such as Anthony Gordon, Charles De Ketelaere and Kennet Eichhorn.
