Things are going well at FC Bayern in sporting terms, but a lot also seems to be going well off the pitch. Luis Díaz and Michael Olise have now given an insight into the atmosphere within the team. Both describe a dressing room in which team spirit plays a central role.
Luis Díaz has been one of the defining attacking players at FC Bayern this season. The Colombian sees the team’s unity as an important reason for the current success. In an internal club interview, the 29-year-old describes the special atmosphere within the team.
„We are like a family. We have a united, very hard-working and humble group, an incredible coaching staff and incredible players. I think the strongest thing is the cohesion, the fact that we all pull together, stay calm and go step by step,“ explained Díaz. The winger also sees a clear development on the pitch: „We play great soccer, not just going forward, but also defending well. That’s important to achieve great things.“
Michael Olise also highlights the team’s unity. The attacking player sees the clear instructions from coach Vincent Kompany as a particularly important factor. „I would say the coach helps with his plans and ideas. Everyone knows what we need to do in certain situations. We’re all on the same page,“ said the 24-year-old. Olise also emphasised the attitude within the team: „Everyone always gives their best. It’s not a team of individuals. We all work together for the same goal.“
Many praise the atmosphere in the team

Several Bayern professionals had previously raved about the atmosphere within the team. Serge Gnabry explained in the club magazine 51: „I can already see parallels to the treble-winning team of 2020 – even if it’s still early to make big statements. But for me, the atmosphere in the team is already the best it’s been since then.“
Captain Manuel Neuer also emphasized the current distribution of roles within the team: „Everyone is playing an important part in the team at the moment. Everyone feels comfortable and is doing their bit,“ said the 39-year-old.
Central defender Hiroki Ito also referred to the mutual interaction within the team: „Our attitude reminds me a little of the Japanese mentality. We respect each other, fight for each other and give everything for the club.“
Harry Kane also spoke recently about the increasing coordination on the pitch. „The more I play with them, the better I understand my teammates,“ explained the England striker.
The big goal seems clear, as youngster Lennart Karl also made clear to BILD: „We have a big dream in the Champions League – to win the title!“
