Due to his outstanding goalscoring record, Harry Kane has repeatedly been linked with interested parties from all over Europe. FC Barcelona, in particular, are flirting with a transfer of the Bayern striker. When asked about this, however, sporting director Max Eberl told Sky : „We haven’t heard anything about that.“
On the contrary, Eberl expressed his confidence that he would be able to keep Kane beyond the summer of 2027, as the Bayern boss had noted in talks with Kane that he and his family feel „very comfortable“ in Munich
Eberl also had clear words to say about the importance of the England striker: „He came to Bayern and I think he has now scored 137 goals in that time [tatsächlich sind es „nur“ 130]. I don’t even want to talk about the assists. He has become even more important – not only in world soccer, but also on the island.“
Eberl: „That’s why we need Harry“
Eberl also let it be known that he is confident that Kane’s hunger for titles at the German record champions will be satisfied: „I think he’s having incredible fun winning titles with us. He finally won his first title with the team last season and I think he wants more, and he can do that with us.“
In addition to winning the treble, breaking Lewandowski’s record is also a major goal for FC Bayern and Harry Kane in particular. The 100-goal mark is also important to Eberl, as he revealed in the interview: „We want that 100-goal mark. 101 is, I think, the record. That’s the goal we have. We want to break that and we need Harry and his goals to do that. That’s why it’s not impossible.“
