FC Bayern are planning the squad of the future and have now apparently enquired about an HSV star
FC Bayern are said to have enquired about one of the Bundesliga’s most exciting defensive talents. The focus is on Luka Vuskovic from Hamburger SV – a deal that is likely to prove extremely complicated, however
The fact that HSV have been stable so far following their return to the Bundesliga is also down to the Croatian central defender. Vuskovic, just 18 years old and on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, has quickly established himself as a permanent fixture in the Hamburg defence. His performances have obviously not gone unnoticed at Säbener Straße
Tottenham signed the youngster from Hajduk Split last summer for the equivalent of around eleven million euros and transferred him directly to Germany. In Hamburg, Vuskovic not only found an ideal sporting environment, but also his brother Mario, who plays there. The move has paid off in sporting terms: in 13 Bundesliga games so far, the defender has impressed with his consistency, maturity and even attacking drive. He has already scored two goals, including a spectacular strike in the northern derby against Werder Bremen
Tottenham plans with Luka Vuskovic
While HSV continue to hope that they can keep the Croatian beyond the current season, there is already some notable competition forming in the background. According to CaughtOffside, FC Bayern have made an initial, non-binding inquiry to Tottenham. RB Leipzig have also made inquiries in London about their prospects for the summer

However, the interested parties have apparently met with little enthusiasm. Tottenham are reportedly planning to stick with Vuskovic and see him as a central building block for the future of their own Premier League team. The Croatian’s contract runs until 2030, so Spurs‘ negotiating position is correspondingly relaxed. Without an exceptional offer, this position is unlikely to change.
