FC Bayern has unveiled its new home kit for the 2026/27 season – and is generating plenty of discussion among fans. While many supporters are celebrating the new look, there are also critical voices on social media.
After numerous leaks in the run-up, the jersey has now been officially unveiled. The record champions have opted for a classic red look with white accents, saying goodbye to the eye-catching design experiments of previous years. It is precisely this move that has gone down well with many fans.
On social media, the initial verdict is overwhelmingly positive, with one user writing: „Best home kit since at least 19/20.“ Other fans are also enthusiastic: „Much nicer than this season“ or „This is what a kit should look like.“ Another comment sums up the opinion of many supporters: „Finally a good kit – the one we’ve been using so far is just awful.“
+++ ORDER THE NEW BAYERN JERSEY NOW +++
FC Bayern seems to have hit a nerve with this. Many fans had recently been calling for a simple, traditional design – and now see this wish fulfilled.
Criticism of the design and timing
However, not all reactions are positive. Some fans are clearly critical of the new jersey. The design details in particular are causing discussion. „After all the potential leaks, this is a slight disappointment to be honest. I think the stripes are completely unnecessary and I don’t want to say anything about the bold adidas stripes and the huge FC BAYERN,“ reads one comment. Another user adds: „If the accents were designed normally then 10/10.“

In addition to the design, the timing of the launch has also been criticised, as Bayern are planning to wear the new jersey for the first time in the upcoming Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain. This decision is not met with understanding by everyone. „Why would you introduce ANY new variable in the most important game of the season of all times? That’s crazy,“ writes one fan.
The bottom line is that the new Bayern jersey has been well received overall, but is still causing controversy.
