There is still no final agreement between Harry Kane and FC Bayern. However, this is not seen as a problem within the club because the Englishman is completely relaxed about his own future.
Even leading up to Wednesday’s cup match against Osnabrück, in which Kane scored twice, both sides remained very relaxed. “Of course, ‘a formality’ is relative. The talks have to take place, just as the games have to be played—that’s clear. What can be said is: Both sides want it, and then it should work out,” explained sporting director Max Eberl.
Kane: It’s about the contract term
When it comes to salary, both negotiating parties seem to be largely in agreement. Kane will earn roughly the same amount as he does now if he signs a new contract. The sticking point remains the contract term, as is once again evident from consistent media reports.
Kane himself is hoping for a three-year extension, that is, through the summer of 2030. FC Bayern is said to have offered a new contract through 2029 so far. However, these are not insurmountable differences. Especially since there is an obvious solution: a two-year contract with an option for a third year, possibly including a performance-based salary adjustment.
The most important news for FC Bayern remains the fact that Kane is very happy and his family also feels very much at home in Munich. That’s why Kane has turned down all other offers and is focusing solely on FC Bayern, where he finds the ideal environment. For this very reason, a contract extension really seems to be just a matter of time.
