FC Bayern is continuing its search for promising talent for its own academy. The Munich-based club’s attention appears to be focused on France. Soyan Ameur, a 16-year-old attacking midfielder from Montpellier HSC, has caught the eye of the German record champions.
According to information from French reporter Bertrand Queneutte, FC Bayern is taking a close look at Ameur. The attacking midfielder has recently drawn attention, particularly while playing for the French U-16 national team. Following his performances at the International Dream Cup in Japan, interest in the youngster is said to have increased significantly once again.
Bayern is by no means the only club keeping an eye on Ameur’s development. The 16-year-old is also reportedly on the radar of other top European clubs. For Munich, the French player would initially be a candidate for the Bayern Campus and thus a signing with an eye toward the future.
Ameur is turning heads in France
Ameur was born on June 24, 2010, in Montpellier and primarily plays in attacking midfield. He is currently under contract with Montpellier HSC, where he plays in the youth system.
For years, FC Bayern has pursued a strategy of identifying young players as early as possible and bringing them to its own campus. In Munich, such talents are first developed in the youth system and, if their performance warrants it, gradually integrated into the professional team.
