FC Bayern is constantly on the lookout for new talent. The focus isn’t just on the first team; the club also aims to attract new talent to Munich from its youth ranks.
One player who has recently been linked to the record champions on several occasions is Emmanuel Mbemba (18), a defender for PSG. He plays for their U19 team there but doesn’t see the prospects with the first team that he would like, which is why he’s leaving the club this summer.
Rumors have been circulating for months that Bayern wants to secure the young talent’s services. Arsenal also joined the fray at one point.
Mbemba decides to move within France
Now the young defender, who has had the opportunity to carefully weigh his options over the past few weeks, has made a decision. According to a report in L’Equipe, Mbemba is headed to AS Monaco.

The French youth international has thus made a conscious decision to take a step in the right direction. In recent years, the Monegasques have consistently succeeded in developing young talent and giving them early playing time at a high level.
Nothing is known about the exact terms of the contract, but the transfer is definitely set to go through. Bayern comes away empty-handed, though this is not uncommon in the highly competitive market for young talent. Many top teams want to secure the best young players because they naturally cost less than established professionals.
Christoph Freund and his team will certainly have their sights set on other players and will try to attract promising talent again this summer. The many debuts by young players last season, in particular, should be a sign that Bayern is now serious about integrating and developing talent.
