Ismael Saibari’s transfer to FC Bayern is on the verge of being finalized. New details regarding the transfer fee and the planned medical exam have now emerged.
FC Bayern has apparently cleared the next major hurdle in its pursuit of Ismael Saibari. After it was reported on Thursday evening that Munich and PSV Eindhoven had reached a basic agreement on a transfer for the Moroccan international, new information has now emerged regarding the financial terms.
As reported by BILD, the agreed transfer fee amounts to around 55 million euros, including potential bonus payments. This suggests that Bayern and the Dutch champions have reached a compromise.
It had recently been reported that Eindhoven had originally demanded a total package of up to 60 million euros. Bayern, on the other hand, wanted to keep the transfer fee below the 50 million euro mark if possible. With the sum now agreed upon, both sides appear to have reached a compromise.
The agreement comes at an important time for FC Bayern. Saibari had recently drawn attention to himself with strong performances at the World Cup and shone with a dream goal in Morocco’s surprising 1-1 draw against Brazil. Further convincing performances could have potentially made the negotiations even more difficult.
Medical exam to take place in the U.S.
According to information from BILD, only two formal steps remain before the transfer is finalized: the signing of the contract and the medical examination.
Of particular interest is the planned procedure for the medical exam. Since Saibari is currently with the Moroccan national team at the World Cup in the U.S., the exam is to be conducted on-site.
According to the report, the player and FC Bayern’s medical team will meet in the U.S. for this purpose. However, this is still subject to approval from the clubs involved as well as the Moroccan Football Association.
Convenient for Bayern: Team doctor Dr. Jochen Hahne is also currently in the U.S., where he is treating the German national team. This would allow the examination to be conducted without significant organizational effort.

A little patience is still required, however. According to the report, the medical exam could take place only after Morocco’s second group stage match. Those in charge apparently want to avoid having preparations for Saturday’s match disrupted by transfer formalities.
There are currently many indications that Saibari will soon be presented as a new Bayern signing. An agreement with Eindhoven has been reached, the contract details are reportedly finalized, and the medical exam is already being scheduled. The transfer is thus in its final stages.
