Since Thursday, FC Bayern has known which opponents await them in the Champions League. Some top-tier matches are on the horizon: Bayern will play Arsenal at home and face Atlético and Manchester United on the road.
UEFA has now scheduled the matches for the group stage of the Champions League for all teams. So starting now, FC Bayern fans can also begin planning their trips for the Champions League.
The schedule is also important for match preparation, as the first matchday of the group stage kicks off the week after next.
FC Bayern: Arsenal and Atlético Back-to-Back
FC Bayern kicks off on September 10 against Bodø/Glimt. The Norwegians will travel to Munich for the opener, with kickoff on Thursday at 9 p.m. In the first week of the new European season, the Champions League will take center stage as usual, which is why matches will also be played on Thursday.
Matchday 2 is scheduled for October 13. On that day, Bayern will travel to Norway to face Viking Stavanger on the road. Kickoff is also at 9 p.m.
Matchdays 3 and 4 will feature two top-tier matchups. On October 21 at 9 p.m., FC Bayern will host Arsenal, before facing Atlético away at the Metropolitano on November 3 at 9 p.m.
The second “half” of the group stage will then kick off on November 25 at 9 p.m. in Lille. On December 8 at 6:45 p.m., FC Bayern will host Slavia Prague from the Czech Republic.
It won’t be until the new year—specifically on January 20—that the action continues with an away match at Old Trafford against Manchester United. Kickoff here is again at 9:00 p.m. Bayern will then play their final matchday at home against Betis. On January 27 at 9:00 p.m., all matches in the group stage will kick off simultaneously. Bayern’s goal is clear: they want to get back to the top and send a message to the competition already during the group stage.
