Following Harry Kane’s historic Ballon d’Or triumph, FC Bayern is apparently already dreaming of the next World Player of the Year coming from within its own ranks. CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen is firmly convinced that Michael Olise will also win the prestigious award one day.
Michael Olise has long since established himself as one of FC Bayern’s most important players. The French attacking midfielder impresses with his exceptional technique, creativity, and goal-scoring ability. His strong performances have now also earned him significant international recognition.
After the 6-1 victory over 1. FC Magdeburg in the DFB Cup, Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen was positively gushing when asked about the 24-year-old’s development. The question was whether, following Harry Kane, the next Bayern star might already be in the spotlight at next year’s Ballon d’Or gala.
Dreesen is convinced: Olise will win the Ballon d’Or.
The CEO’s subsequent prediction was particularly noteworthy. Dreesen not only believes the French national team player is capable of another nomination, but is firmly convinced that Olise will indeed win the coveted award one day. “That’s why I’m deeply convinced that Michael will definitely win this Ballon d’Or at some point in his career,” the Bayern boss made clear.
Dreesen pointed to the offensive star’s outstanding performances last season. It was no coincidence that Olise had already been nominated for the award and ultimately finished in ninth place. The same applies to his Munich teammates Luis Díaz and Dayot Upamecano.
However, an important prerequisite for truly great individual success is that Olise remains free from serious injuries.
Bayern offers Olise the perfect stage

In Dreesen’s view, FC Bayern has everything it takes to support Olise on his path to the top of the world. In addition to the club’s athletic quality, teamwork within the squad plays a particularly crucial role.
In Munich, the Frenchman has an environment in which he can develop to his full potential. At the same time, he benefits from teammates who bring out the best in his extraordinary abilities.
“You can be the best individual player on the planet. It doesn’t do you any good if you have teammates who don’t help you shine,” Dreesen emphasized.
Harry Kane has impressively demonstrated—with his recent Ballon d’Or victory—that FC Bayern enables its players to win the highest individual honors.
